Amaya Laucirica was born into the rural solitude of Millicent, South Australia. At age 18, she moved to Sydney in search of more creative prospects. Studying design, she wrote songs as a form of solace and as a way to deal with her isolated start.
What makes a band or a song writer unique? Is it the creation of a style or a fashion? Producing a sound which has never been heard before? Or is it nothing more than a simple timelessness, the kind of music which has no distinct place in the past, present or future?

Half noise, half folk - khancoban’s songs deploy in low-gravity and with a dash of grit. They are performed calmly, utilising calculated space and tension, exploding at key points that leave the band’s filament still burning in their wake.
After fronting bands for well over a decade, Lindsay Phillips changed direction. Armed only with an acoustic guitar and a handful of arresting songs, he stepped back onto the stage as a solo artist. If you are fortunate enough to see him perform, it is his voice, all gravel and melodic charm, that will pin you. His songs are laments - haunted offerings to the lost souls of love.
Superficially, it would seem relatively easy to define Lowtide’s music. Their reverb drenched, richly layered and heavily textured sound brings to mind bands such as The Cure, Ride, My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. However, to categorise their sound as simply "shoegaze" is to miss the point entirely.
A graduate of history and literature, Cummings travelled widely before recording his debut EP, You Incomplete Me, with David McCluney in 2004. Shortly after, he was signed to Bruce Milne’s revered In-Fidelity Recordings, birthplace of musical luminaries The Devastations, Dan Kelly, and The Drones.
